BRIEF
For more than two decades, the Institute has trained some of the country’s most promising young Black men for leadership. The results were real, but the story wasn’t reaching people. Our job was to make that legacy visible, bring alumni back into the fold, and build systems that would let the work keep growing after we left.
APPROACH
Legacy was the asset, so we treated it like one. We put the scholars at the center, let the documentary carry the emotion, and built the systems underneath so every new audience had somewhere to land: a newsletter, a community, a donor journey.
SOLUTION
Campaign: “Make the Legacy Visible.”We launched the Institute’s blog, ran its social channels, took the new documentary to four cities, built a private alumni app, moved fundraising onto new donor software, and produced book events for Dr. Keyes’ The Stories They Hear.

HOW WE DO IT
We started with the people. Scholar spotlights, alumni voices, and the documentary gave the Institute a face and a heartbeat. Then we gave that story places to live: a blog with a real readership, active social channels, and screenings that turned viewers into supporters in rooms from Washington to the Vineyard.

Behind the scenes, we built what keeps it running. That meant a content operations system across six platforms, a donor platform that makes giving easier to manage, and an alumni app that gives the network a home of its own. Every piece was designed for one purpose: making sure the best and the brightest are seen, supported, and connected long after the summer ends.
